Cloudy Day

The sky is such a pretty shade of purple and blue. A little rain drizzles down on all the spring flowers, refreshing. The kids go back to school today and they're reluctantly getting out of bed to eat cold cereal. They are not thrilled about the getting up part but are thrilled about going back to school. I love that they love school. Isn't that the goal, to learn to love to learn? Well, they are learning to love to learn. A gift that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. So many people wait until college to invest in education and it seems backwards to me. Many may not make it to college and, if they do, are burnt out from the rat race of testing that goes on in public schools nowadays. It's really unfortunate for all the great and giving teachers in the public school system that are stuck with government BS! So, we chose the waldorf school and my kids don't look forward to weekends or vacations. This week, Oliver's class will spend the night at Sutter's Fort! All dressed in costume, they'll work and guard through the night. School is almost out for the summer and things are getting busy!
